Implementing innovation – how we make real the promise of new technologies

New technology innovations are seen as critical to help our health and care system to transform in the light of ongoing demand and workforce pressures and help it remain sustainable. But so far, and despite many years of national efforts to foster more innovation, there are few examples of successful implementation of new technologies to change care pathways or service models. And while the many barriers are well known, there is little debate about potential solutions.
