Basia Query, 24, received a cheap technique that didn’t utilize needles.
In a tragic occurrence, a woman from Las Vegas, USA, experienced a severe allergic response after receiving a $350 lip filler, causing her lips to enlarge three times their regular size.
Basia Query, 24, received a cheap technique that didn’t utilize needles. Query slipped into a probable anaphylactic reaction when the cosmetician used a hyaluronic pen to inject the filler into her lips.
Hyaluron is delivered beneath the skin by the hyaluronic pen using highly pressurized air.
When the immune system overreacts, it might result in an anaphylactic shock, which lowers blood pressure, narrows or even closes the airways, and causes other symptoms.
Due to the swelling of her lips brought on by the allergic response, Query was unable to talk or swallow. Her enormously large lips were seen in photos that were posted on social media.
The “scariest thing ever,” in her words, and she feared she could even have to “chop off” her lips. Thankfully, the medical professionals responded within five minutes of the shock and administered an adrenaline injection to her.
Her lips’ swelling started to go down within a day, but she stated they were still “much damaged.”
The 24-year-old claimed to be “terrified” together with her family after the occurrence and said that she would not have any more cosmetic treatments in the future.
It’s interesting to note that Query wasn’t new to the procedure. She had twice visited the clinic for the same procedure and had no problems having her lips altered. She was, however, left feeling quite uneasy this time.
With a mask covering her lips, Query dashed to the drugstore in search of an anti-allergy. She was allegedly given an anesthetic to relieve the discomfort, which is what reportedly provoked the response.
