Firefighters Prove That Shift Workers Can Benefit from Fasting Diets.

Shift workers may be able to eat healthier because to time-restricted eating, which is a well-liked method of weight loss.

137 firemen from San Diego worked 24-hour shifts, which meant they were regularly present on duty for 24 continuous hours. The firemen were split into two groups: one maintained their regular eating pattern, while the other agreed to a 12-week time restriction, reducing their daily eating window from an average of 14 hours to 10 hours.

The Mediterranean diet, which places an emphasis on fruit and vegetable consumption, seafood, whole grains, and “healthy” fats like olive oil, was also advocated for both groups.

Since firemen are accustomed to eating whenever they feel the need for energy, one of the key goals was to determine whether time-restricted eating was safe for them.

The eating regimen turned out to be without issues. No complaints of weariness or other symptoms that may have affected the firefighters’ ability to perform their duties were made by those in the time-restricted group.
